Lady BLUFF CITY -- Mary Elizabeth Thompson Lady, 83, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at her home. She was a life long resident of Bluff City, a daughter of the late Henry and Mae Carroll Thompson, and was the widow of John W. "Jack" Lady. She is survived by three daughters, Peggy Fleenor of Bluff City, Faye Barger-Slogar of Mt. Carmel and JoAnn Hall of Sperryville, Va.; a son, Don Lady of Bluff City; a sister, Celia Lee of San Mateo, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Chapel of Oakley-Cook Funeral Home with Rev. John Cowell officiating. Burial will follow in Gunnings Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. Condolences and memories may be sent to the family at condolences@oakley-cook.com.
