SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Maetrue Miller Nave, 16 Feb 2005 ----¤¤¤---- Maetrue Miller Nave, 94, of Bristol, Va., was born November 1, 1910 in Carter County, Tenn., and departed this life and began eternal life on Wednesday, February 16, 2005. She was the wind beneath her family's wings and was surrounded by them as she was peacefully ushered into the presence of the Lord. Ms. Nave was a daughter of the late W.M. "Bill" and Margie Hughes Miller. Maetrue was preceded in death by her husband, R.L. Nave, and four brothers, Arville Miller, Willie Miller, Arthur Miller and Howard Miller. Maetrue was a supervisor at Leon Ferenbach for many years. She was owner and operator of Siesta Motel, Bristol, Va., with her late husband, and was president of Siesta Motels, Inc., at the time of her death. Maetrue was a founding member of Victory Baptist Church, which she faithfully attended and loved dearly for over 30 years. Survivors include her daughter, Grace Hale Fleenor and her husband Dale, Bristol, Tenn.; two grandchildren and their spouses, Julie Hedges and Bill, and Billy Hale and Becky, all of Johnson City; two great-grandchildren, William Joel Hedges and Madeline Grace Hale; two sisters, Lucy Hughes Gartner, Abingdon, Va., and Vera Scott, Ridgefield Road, Johnson City; a sister-in-law, Ella Mae Miller, Elizabethton, and a very special friend, Earl S. Webb. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A service to honor the life of Maetrue Miller Nave will be held in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home in Elizabethton, Tenn., on Friday, February 18, 2005, with Dr. Austin Cook and John Cowell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Music will be provided by the Victory Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 19, at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews, Kyle Hughes, Gary Hughes, Terry W. Miller, Shelby Miller, Larry Miller and Lynn Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be Edsel Ringley, Charlie Winter, Earl Webb, Don Blair and Dr. David Thompson.
