SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Arthur Perry, 22 Aug 2004

Mr. Arthur Perry, 72, of West "G" Street, Elizabethton, died Sunday, 
August 22, 2004 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Nursing Home, 
Mountain Home, following a brief illness.

Mr. Perry was a native of Bluff City and was the son of the late Emmett 
A. and Bessie Nichols Perry.

He was a member of Lynn Valley Baptist Church.

He was a former employee of the Exxon Service Station on the Volunteer 
Parkway in Bristol. He was retired due to disability. He was a veteran of 
the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Emmett R. Perry.

Survivors include two sisters and one brother-in-law, Elizabeth Campbell 
of Bristol, Va. and Margaret and Doug Lipps of Gray; a special caregiver, 
Iva Malone, of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mr. Arthur Perry will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, 
August 23, 2004 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. 
Dennis Wilson officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Kelly 
Rapert. The graveside service and burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. 
Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at the Glenwood Cemetery, Bristol, Tenn. Active 
pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive 
friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2004 prior to the service in the 
chapel. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at 
the cemetery Tuesday at 9:55 a.m. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of 
flowers may make donations in memory of Mr. Perry to the American Cancer 
Society, c/o Helen Wilson, 209 South Riverside Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
