Phillips Blonnie Nave Phillips, 84, 1265 Catawba Street, Kingsport, died Saturday, March 2, 2002, at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation - Hillside Manor. A native of Carter County, she grew up in Elizabethton and graduated from Elizabethton High School in 1936. Blonnie came to Kingsport in 1938. She worked at Holston Ordinance during World War II and later with Parks- Belk for 13 years. She was a charter member of the Opti-Mrs. Club and a member of First Baptist Church of Kingsport. Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Phillips, a brother, Harold Nave, and a sister, Florence Hawkins. Survivors include a daughter, Anne Phillips, Kingsport; a nephew, Charles Nave, Gray; a great-nephew, Allan Nave; a great-great-nephew, Brandon Nave; and a cousin, Beulah Bowers, Elizabethton. Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport, is serving the Blonnie Phillips family. PHILLIPS -- Funeral services for Blonnie Nave Phillips, 84, 1265 Catawba Street, Kingsport, who went to be with the Lord at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2002, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, at First Baptist Church of Kingsport with Dr. Ron Davis and the Rev. Mitch Whisnant officiating. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton. Calling hours are from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church.
