Pierce BLUFF CITY -- Della Mae Pierce, 85, of 561 Troublesome Hollow Road died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003. She was a native of Washington County, Tenn., and a daughter of the late James and Bertie Shephard. She was a member of Central Holston Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hugh Pierce; a daughter, Mary Ann Pierce; sons John William Pierce and Wallace Lee Pierce; sisters Helen Bennett and Ann Blevins; brothers Fred Shephard and Cecil Shephard; and great-grandson, Johnathan Blalock. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Viola Pierce of Bristol Tennessee, and James V. and Carol Pierce of Bluff City; adopted sons Larry Allen Pierce and William Hugh "Bill" Pierce II, both of Bluff City; sisters Ernestine Glasscock of Lake City, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Pierce of Beckley, W.Va.; special nieces Doris Cooter and Betty Perez; special friend, Bertha Jane Booher; grandchildren Pam Sigmon, Debbie Worley, Sherri Levitsky, Steve Pierce, Mike Pierce, Denise Pierce, Timothy Pierce, Peggy Hill, James "Bubba" Pierce, Donald Pierce and Melinda Murray; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Burnette officiating, assisted by Minister Ken Kehrer. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nathan Carrier, Doanld Pierce, Mike Pierce, Steve Pierce, James Worley, Steven Pierce, James Pierce and Wayne Smithson. Special thanks to caregiver, Debbie Worley, Dr. Fred Greear, Wellmont Hospice staff and the skilled nursing staff on the fourth floor at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
