A native of Wilson County, Tenn., he was a son of the late Alfred Taylor Ricketts and Della Ricketts. He was retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. He was also a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Bristol Tennessee, a member of Comer Lodge 417 F&AM, a Scottish Rite Mason and member of the Al Menah Temple. A daughter, Ann, and a son, Charles, preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Rosie Harden Ricketts of the home; two children, Carol Ricketts of Asheboro and David Ricketts and his wife Sherron of Marion; one brother, Howell Layne Ricketts and his wife, Mattie Ann of Watertown, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at 10 a.m. at Hunter Funeral Home Chapel in Watertown, Tenn. The family will receive friends from 8:30 - 10 a.m. on Monday prior to the service at Hunter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Jones Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Marion Scholarship Fund, 99 N. Main St., Marion, NC 28752 or to Woodlawn Baptist Church, 1400 Southwide Ave., Bristol, Tenn.
