He was born in Ashe County, N.C., and had moved to Chuckey about three years ago after spending most of his life in Bristol. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a former machinist at Modern Forge. Mr. Roark attended Liberty Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two wives, Imogene Roark in 1979, and Betty Roark in 1994. Survivors include: daughter, Penny Durham and husband Brian of Bristol Tennessee; son, Mike and wife Antje Roark of Kingsport; sister, Carol Bregel; brothers, John Keatts, Cline Keatts, Lanny Keatts and Terry Keatts; grandchildren, Whitney Osborne, Anthony Roark, Nathan Roark and Brianna Roark; and special friends, Jean Burgner and Johnny, Judy and Brandon Bowman. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 8 p.m. in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Karen Albers officiating. Committal services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Glenwood Cemetery.
