He was a native of Bristol Tennessee and had returned to Bristol from Atlanta. He was a truck driver most recently employed by C&D Transport. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was preceded in death by his father, Joe Avery Smith. Survivors include: mother, Charmie Mason; sisters, Kathy Cunningham of Kingsport and Karen Baines of Bristol Tennessee; brother, Michael Smith; several nieces and nephews; several stepchildren; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friend, Linda Keith. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 5 p.m. in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Ray Cunningham officiating. Committal services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Glenwood Cemetery.
