Stanley J.D. Stanley, 88, of 1312 Pineola Ave. passed away Thursday Dec. 5, 2002, at Cambridge House in Bristol. Mr. Stanley retired from Holliston Mills and served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Kingsport. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenore Clemmer Stanley, and a brother, Hugh Stanley. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, David and Joni Stanley of Bristol; grandchildren Bryan David Stanley and April Elizabeth Stanley; sisters Beatrice Cox and her husband, Chatman, of Galax, Va., and Agnes S. Goodman of Charlottesville; brother Glenn O. Stanley of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements will be announced by Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown chapel, with Pastor Gary Soop officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in Mosheim Central Cemetery.
