She was born in Blowing Rock, N.C., and resided in Kingsport from 1956- 1962 while her husband was pastor of Temple Baptist Church. They moved to Morristown in 1962 when he became pastor of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a resident of Morristown until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents, D.O. and Samantha Harmon Greene; two brothers; four sisters; and two grandsons, Grant Evans Triplett and Jerry Dean Trent. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morristown. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Rev. Carl G. Triplett of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mrs. Dean (Martha) Trent, Kingsport, and Mrs. David (Mary) Dunn, West Point, Ga.; four sons and daughters-in-law, Tom Triplett and Judy, Rincon, Ga., Howard Triplett and Frances, Morristown, Charles Triplett and Joy, Morristown, and William Triplett and Becky, Sylvania, Ga.; four granddaughters, Mrs. Mark (Judy) Addington, Mrs. David (Deana) Steadman, both of Kingsport, Mrs. David (Jodi) Redwine, Gate City, Va., and Mrs. Steve (Susan) Ellis, Chickamauga, Ga.; six grandsons, Tommy Triplett and wife Gay, Rincon, Eddie Triplett and wife Rebecca, Cleveland, Tenn., Chris Triplett and wife Donna, Morristown, Brian Triplett, Gracewood, Ga., and John Triplett and Grant Emory Triplett, both of Sylvania; 14 great- grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Colvard, Elizabethton, Tenn., and Mrs. Margaret Anderson, Lenoir, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, Jan,. 5, 2003, from 1-3 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport, and any time at the home of daughter, Martha Trent, 1013 Hanover Court, Kingsport. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Joe W. Byrd, Rev. Danny George and Rev. Bobby Russell officiating. Music will be provided by great- grandson Brinley Addington and Jimmy Don Green. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Graveside services will be held at East Lawn Memorial Park.
