Irene H. Wagner 





    Irene Hendrix Wagner, 92, 1633 Hillview Drive, Elizabethton, formerly of 

Bluff City, died Monday, December 11, 2006, at Hermitage Health Center. 





    A native of Bluff City, she was a daughter of the late George and Margaret 

Plank Massengill. 





    Mrs. Wagner was a member of Bluff City First Christian Church and was a 

homemaker. 





    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wagner was preceded in death by her first 

husband, Cody Hendrix, her second husband, C.J. Wagner, two sisters, Margaret 

Rutter and Mable Cain, and a son, George Hendrix. 





    Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and John Holsclaw of 

Johnson City; six grandchildren, Tammy Holsclaw Jones, John Holsclaw Jr., Kim 

Buckner, Jan Mobley Hendrix, Melany Hendrix and Steven Hendrix; nine great-

grandchildren; and three sisters, Georgie Warren of Bluff City, Edith Quinn of 

Knoxville and Betty Ann Morrell of Bluff City. 





    The funeral service for Mrs. Wagner will be held at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, 

December 13, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City Chapel, with Mr. Roby Ellis, 

minister, officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel 

from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service. The graveside service 

will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 14, at Morrell Cemetery, Bluff City. 

Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:15 a.m. Active pallbearers will be 

Brian Buckner, Randy Jones, Timothy Davis, Eric Taylor, Jerry Morrell and 

Willie Holsclaw. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to High Rock Bible 

Camp, c/o Elizabethton Church of Christ, 137 East C Street, Elizabethton, TN
