Wallace JOHNSON CITY -- Joyce Barr Wallace, 62, of 318 Cretsinger Road, Shady Valley, Tenn., passed away, Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, in Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. She was a native of Taylors Valley, Va., but had made her home in Shady Valley for several years. She was a daughter of the late Fred and Verna Richardson Barr. Mrs. Barr was of the Christian faith. Survivors include her husband, Howard Wallace, of the home; son Tony Wallace and fiance, Sharon McQueen, of Shady Valley, Tenn.; sister Jean Mabe and husband, Fred, of Taylors Valley; brothers Paul Barr, and wife, Geraldine, of Mountain City and Earl Barr and wife, Gloria, Opelika, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews. Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services for Joyce Barr Wallace will be held at 8 p.m., Sunday from Shady Valley Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tom Peake to officiate. Pallbearers will be Christopher Garland, Larry Wallace, Charles Wallace, Donald Fletcher, Tom Hubbard and Roger Morrison. Honorary pallbearers will be doctors and nurses of Johnson City Medical Center, Dr. Ross, Ed Ball, Eddie Widener, Stacey Greer, James Richardson and Pastor Reecy Widener. Graveside services and burial will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, from Blevins Cemetery, Shady Valley. The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 p.m. Sunday at the church. Friends may call at the residence, 318 Cretsinger Road, Shady Valley, anytime. Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
