All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/tn/tnfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Janet King JPerdue192@aol.com April 29, 2009, 8:52 am Written: October 10, 1866 Recorded: October 18, 1866 Articles of an agreement by and between George Chitwood and his wife Adaline Chitwood of one part and Lee Perdue of the second part both of the County of Sumner & State of Tennessee witness whereas I the said George Chitwood and my wife Adaline have this day bargained and sold for the amt do hereby transfer to the said Lee Perdue a tract of land in Sumner County in District No 16 Sumner County Tenn containing one hundred & thirty acres the same being a portion of the land that my wifes Father Eli Perdue Decd died possessed of and (invalued?) to my wife in the advancement made by said Eli Perdue Decd and is now before the Sumner Chancery Court for final (----?) the said Lee Perdue is to pay me and my wife six hundred dollars in cash notes and endorse by A. F. Watwood (for which both of us to pay fees?) and the said George Chitwood is to give possession on or before I give him possesion of the land that I have sold said Chitwood in Witness whereof we have sit out hands and seals this 10 Oct 1866. ack Adline E. Chitwood Relative to her fore execution of the above agreement separate and apart from her husband George Chitwood and in so doing certify the same for and under your hand seal witness my hand and seal this 13th of October 1866. John. L. Bugg clerk State of Tennessee] Sumner County] Personally appeared before me John L. Bugg clerk of the County Court of Said County Adline E. Chitwood, George Chitwood and Lee Perdue bargainers with whom I am personally acquainted and acknowledge that they made and executed the foregoing instrument for the purposes therein contained and Adline E. Chitwood aforesaid wife of the said George Chitwood also personally appeared before me separate and apart from her said husband and acknowledged that she made and executed the same on her part fore by voluntarily and understandingly & without compulsion or constrait by the part of her said husband.
