Whitson have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey unto William H. Whitson and his heirs for the sum of three Hundred & eight dollars to me said the receipt is hereby acknowledged, a certain piece of land lying in being in the county of Sumner District No. 17 State of Tenn and bounded as follows to wit; Beginning on a rock running W. 70 North 83 poles to a stake on James P. Parkers South boundary line; Thence East with his line N. 88 E. 72 Poles to planted rock. Thence South 81 poles to a stake with Dogwood & Chestnut Pointers. Thence west 92 Poles to the Beginning. Containing 36 acres be the same more or less To have and to hold to the said William H. Whitson and his heirs forever I do covenant with the said Wm. H. Whitson that I have a good rite to convey it and that the same is unencumbered and that I will forever defend the title to the said Wm. H. Whitson and his heirs against the lawful claims of all person whatever, Also one other tract in Sumner County, Dist. No 17 State of Tennessee and bounded as follows to wit; Beginning on a stake hickory pointer running S. 78 W 19 P. to a White oak, thence S. 50 W. 30 poles to a stake E boundary line Then South 20 poles to Daniel Bradley corner, thence 44 poles to a chestnut thence North 55 Poles to the beginning containing 10 acres to have and to hold the same to the said Wm H. Whitson and his heirs forever I do convenant with the said, W. H. Whitson that I have a good right to convey it and that the same is unemcumbered and that I will defend the right to the said Wm. H. Whitson & his heirs against the claims of all person whatever, Witness my hand and seal this 23rd day of Sept 1870. Test W. B. Whitson (seal) O. P. Butler Eliza. A. Whitson and Eliza Whitson husband and wife bargainers with whom I am personally acquainted, who acknowledged the execution of within deed for the purpose therein expressed and Eliza Whitson wife of said W. B. Whitson personally appeared before me privately and apart from her husband and acknowledged the Execution of the within Deed to have been done by her freely voluntarily and understandingly without compulsion or constrait on the part of her husband for the purpose therein expressed.
