All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/tn/tnfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Janet King JPerdie192@aol.com January 30, 2010, 11:44 am Written: December 2, 1861 Recorded: September 19, 1866 For the Love and affection I have for my son I Lee Perdue do give William Perdue his heirs administrators or Executors in the State of Tennessee Sumner County Dist No 16 a tract of land containing by estimation one acre be the same more or less and bounded as follows Beginning at a small post oak lying on the Eastern boundary of a fifty acre tract of land belonging John Hobdy's survey running east thirteen poles to a stake thence thirteen poles to a stake thence West thirteen poles to a small white oak on said line thence North thirteen poles to the beginning to have and to hold the said tract of land to his heirs or assigns forever I do convenant with the said William Perdue that I am lawfully seized of said land have a good right to convey it and the same is unencumbered I do further convenant and bind myself my heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to the said land to the said W. E. W. Perdue his heirs or assigns this the 2nd day of December 1861. Executed and Delivered in our presents John N. Smartt Lee Perdue (seal) R. L. Garrett State of Tennessee Sumner County Personally appeared before me John L. Bugg Clerk of the county Court of said County John N. Smart and R. L. Garrett subscribing witnesses to the foregoing deed who being first sworn deposed and said that they are personally acquainted with Lee Perdue the bargainer and that he acknowledged in their presence that he made and executed the same for the purposes therein contained witness my hand at office the 19 Sept 1866. Perdue son of Lee Perdue and Mary Wyatt had died in August of 1866 in Sumner Co., TN. Lee Perdue probably filed this deed in order to help the widow Harriet L. Barber Perdue settle William Perdue's estate.
