FRANKLIN FAVORITE February 1922
     The jury in the case of the commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Bobbie Davidson, 
charged with the murder of Raymond Whitson of Sumner county, Tenn. rendered a 
verdict Friday giving the defendant a life sentence. the case was tried last 
Thursday and (unreadable?) a change of venue from Simpson county to Logan 
county.
     Young Whitson, son of Sonny Whitson of Fountain Head was shot and 
instantly killed by Davidson last October while standing in the court house at 
Franklin. Whitson was in Franklin to attend the trail of his brother who was 
charged with cutting James West, a nephew of Bobby Davidson.
     Eye witnessess, it is alleged were surprised to hear the shooting as they 
had heard no signs of trouble. Whitson had only a small knife and some money in 
his pockeds.

Additional Comments:
Raymond Whitson was born 6 Feb 1891 in Sumner Co., TN to William Henry Whitson 
and Ardelia Lenery Perdue. He was killed 10 October 1921.
