Sumner County, Gallatin, TN, October 13, 1921
               YOUNG FOUNTAIN HEAD FARMER IS KILLED AT FRANKLIN, KY.

    Franklin Ky., Oct. 10. - Raymond Whitson, age 33, unmarried son of Sonny 
Whitson of Fountain Head, Tenn., was shot and instantly killed by Bobby 
Davidson, age 38, son of Jailor Charles L. Davidson, while standing in the hall 
of the courthouse at Franklin at 2:30 Monday afternoon.
     Whitson was in Franklin to attend the trial of his brother who is charged 
with cutting James West, a nephew of Bobby Davidson, last Saturday night at a 
pool room here. Davidson is under arrest.
                    
                          WHITSON UNARMED

     Eye witnesses, it is alleged were, surprised to hear the shooting as they 
had heard no sign of trouble. Whitson had only a small knife and some money in 
his pocket.
     Davidson is married and has several children. Whitson was a prosperous 
farmer of Sumner county, Tenn.

and Ardelia Lenery Perdue.
