SUMNER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Ella Mae Dorris Cole, 5 Jun 1962 ----¤¤¤---- Ella Mae Dorris Cole Apr 18, 1889-Jun 5, 1962 Mrs. John W. (Pete) Cole, 73, of Hendersonville, a lifelong resident of Sumner County, died of a heart ailment at 5:40 a.m. Tuesday, at her home on New Hope Road. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Hope Baptist Church. The Rev. Clifton D. Alexander and the Rev. V.R. Butler will officiate. Burial will be at Sherron Cemetery near Oak Grove in Sumner Co. The body is at Cole and Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville. The former Ella Mae Dorris is survived by her husband, John W. (Pete) Cole whom she married in 1941. He is a retired laborer. She is also survived by four stepdaughters, Mrs. Virgil Rigney, Hendersonville; Mrs. Floyd Perdue, Portland; Mrs. Johnny Hicks, Madison; Mrs. John Bowers, Goodlettsville; a stepson, James E. Cole, Goodlettsville; two sisters, Mrs. Jack Bell and Mrs. Belle Cook, Nashville; and two brothers, Jesse Dorris, Portland, and George Dorris, Nashville.
