Marriage Bond for Elisha Clary and Polly Barns


Know all men by these presents that we Elisha Clary & Peter Sooney
(Pitmor) of Sumner County Territory of the United State South of the River
Ohio are held and firmly bound unto William Blount Esquire Governer of
said territory in the just & full Sum of five hundred pounds to be paid to the
said Blount or his Sucessors in office for the time being for the true
performance where of we bend ourselvez our heirz (symbol) Jointly &
severally firmly by their presents sealed & dated this 20th day of February of
93
     The condition of the above obligation iz such that whereaz the above
bound Elisha Clary hath obtained license to Solimonize the rites of
Matrimony between him & Polley Barns Now if there Shale not hereafter
appear any lawful (unreadable) to object the marriage then this obligation to
be void (ater) to remain in fullforce.
