Martin of Memphis, formerly of Munford, will be held on Thursday morning at 11 o'clock in the chapel of Munford Funeral Home. Rev. Doug Corbett will lead the service and burial will follow in Helen Crigger Cemetery, Munford. Mr. Martin, 80, died early on Tuesday morning in St. Peter's Villa, Memphis, after an illness of about 1 ½ months. Born in Mississippi, he moved to this area 60 years ago and was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was a member of the Sky Lake Baptist Church in Memphis. Mr. Martin leaves his widow, Willie Timbs Martin; a son, Harold Martin of Houston, TX; two daughters; Helen Burk of Memphis and Joyce Coble of Piedmont, AL; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He also leaves three brothers, Artie Martin of Munford and E. D. "El" and Pinkney Martin of Memphis and three sisters, Minnie Prestage of Water Valley, MS, Agatha Rose of Munford and Ollie McMullen of Covington.
