HENRY (HERMAN)G. WILLIAMS IS FIRST FATALITY ON PROJECT. First major casualty in connection with construction of the Tennessee Powder Co. plant near Millington came yesterday afternoon when a platform hoist on which Henry (Herman)G. Williams of Covington was working fell to the ground and killed him instantly. He was 44. Mr. Williams was an employee of the Fulcher & Poyner Co., contractors. The platform was being used in brick laying work on one of the powder plant structures and had been raised to a height of about 40 feet when the hoist failed, company officials said. He received multiple skull fractures. Company doctors, on the scene almost immediately, found him already dead. Previously there had been only one serious accident, a broken leg, since the project was started. The body was brought to Memphis in a Collins ambulance. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Additional Comments: all inserts of story were added by myself where the newspaper had mispronounced his name. also according to Herman's WW1 draft card He has written his birthdate as 1896 not 1895 as stated in his death certificate.
