Mrs. Bennett was a native of North Carolina and a daughter of the late William and Minnie Miller Coggins. She was of the Baptist faith and an active member of the Clinchfield Senior Citizens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cheves Bennett, January 3, 1969; and one son, Tony Bennett. Survivors include eight daughters, Ethel Miller, Erwin; Roxie McLaughlin, Ypsilanti, Mississippi, Edith Webb and Nell Webb, both of Inverness, Florida, Bonnie Britt, Doris Bennett, Tina Turner, and Mindy Adkins, all of Erwin; three sons, Theodore Bennett, Carter County, Homer Bennett, Inverness, Florida, and Fred Bennett, Erwin; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
