UNICOI COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Herman C. Blevins, 28 Jun 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Herman C. Blevins Mr. Herman C. Blevins, age 79, 500 Marbleton Road, Unicoi, died Saturday, June 28, 2003 in the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Blevins lived most of his life in Unicoi and was a son of the late Roy T. and Cora Bell McInturff Blevins. He was a World War II Army veteran having served in the South Pacific. Mr. Blevins retired from TPI after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joy Head Blevins; one brother, Leonard Blevins, and two sisters, Imogene Bowen and Virginia Pitcher. Survivors include his wife, Linda Hudson Blevins; two sons and one daughter-in-law, David Ivory and Iris Blevins, of Unicoi; Herman Kelly Blevins, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Rex Barker, of Dayton, Nev.; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Lucille Bowen and Patsy and Lloyd Mister, all of Prince Fredrick, Md.; Ruby Hadden, of Ill., and Fannie Mae King, of Md.; one sister-in-law, Ruth Blevins, of Md.; five grandchildren, Heather Lingerfelt, Tracey Hoilman, Charles Blevins, Abbie Blevins, and Jennifer Barker; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandson, and several nieces and nephews. Unicoi Funeral Home, 4428 Unicoi Drive, Unicoi, is in charge of the funeral arrangements. 743-1381. BLEVINS -- Funeral services for Mr. Herman C. Blevins, age 79, 500 Marbleton Road, Unicoi, who died Saturday, June 28, 2003 will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2003 from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 211 Mayflower Road, Martindale Estates, Johnson City. Bishop Robert Hood, Gene Bailey and Roger Bowers will officiate. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2003 in Monte Vista Burial Park, Johnson City. Full military grave rites will be rendered by the Kingsport V.F.W. Post #3382. Charlie Blevins, Pete LaForce, David Carver, Harold Hudson, Micheal Ellis and Lee Gouge will serve as active pallbearers. David Fagerburg, LeGrand Boyer, Bob Henry, Sr., Bob Henry, Jr., Jack Miller, James Pierce, and Lloyd Mister will serve as honorary pallbearers. All pallbearers are requested to assemble at the church by 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the residence, 500 Marbleton Road, Unicoi. The body will be placed in the church by 3 p.m. Tuesday.
