William "Bill" Carpenter 





    William "Bill" Carpenter, 81, 425 H. Heaton Road, Elizabethton, died 

Monday, December 10, 2007, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended 

illness. 





    A native of Unicoi County, he was a son of the late Lou Collins Vanhuss. 





    Mr. Carpenter was a member of Beck Mountain Baptist Church. 





    Survivors include his wife, Wilma Jean Carpenter, of the home; three 

daughters, Diane Morris, Elizabethton, Elizabeth Carpenter, of the home, and 

Karen Adkins, Elizabethton; a special grandson, Eric Carpenter, of the home; 

three additional grandchildren, Richard Stout, Erica Stout and Daniel Morris, 

all of Elizabethton; and special friend, Buck Gentry. 





    The graveside service for Mr. Carpenter will be conducted at 11 a.m. 

Wednesday, December 12, in the Caldwell Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with 

Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating. Everyone is welcome to meet the family at 

the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. 

Active pallbearers will be Rick Barrie, Eddie Sams, Buck Gentry, Norman 

Peters, Wayne Birchfield and Phillip Nave. Honorary pallbearers will be R.J. 

Lewis, Glen Hardin, Calvin Hardin, Kenneth Thomas and Dr. Joe May. Condolences
