UNICOI COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Jack B. Conley, 22 Oct 2002 ----¤¤¤---- JACK B. CONLEY PENLAND - Jack B. Conley, 83, of Erwin, TN, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002 in the Erwin Health Care Center. A native of Penland, he was the son of the late Julius A. and Maggie Jane Sparks Conley. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Conley and Clarence Conley; and three sisters, Ola Willis, Mamie Helton and Carrie Edwards. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Erwin, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Clinchfield Railroad after 43 years. He was a member of numerous associations, including past member of the Mitchell County Historical Society. He was also the author of many Clinchfield historical articles. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Erwin Conley of the home; one daughter, Becky Anne Conley of the home; one sister, Georgia Morton of Hendersonville; three nephews; three nieces; two cousins and several great nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Evergreen Cemetery in Erwin. Rev. David Tydings officiated.
