Duncan Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Larimer Duncan, 76, 953 North Elm Street, Erwin, died Friday, January 4, 2008, at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital. A lifelong resident of Unicoi County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Lawrence and Myrtle Taylor Larimer. Mrs. Duncan retired in 1995 from Sprint Telephone Company of Bristol after 26 years of service. She was a member of Ninth Street Baptist Church where she had taught the LLL Sunday School Class for several years. Mrs. Duncan was a member of the Pioneer Club and the Speaker Bureau of Sprint Telephone Company. She had achieved the Avon Presidential Club award for over 15 straight years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Edward E. "Gene" Duncan, in 2002, a brother, Lawrence T. Larimer, and a sister, Hazel T. Larimer. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Elizabeth and Terry Jones, Erwin; a grandson, Jordan Taylor Jones, Erwin; a sister-in-law, Chestine Larimer, Erwin; a nephew, Craig P. Larimer and his wife Lisa, Elizabethton; and special nephews, Patrick, Adam and Jason Larimer. Several other brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Duncan will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, January 7, at the Ninth Street Baptist Church, 319 Ninth Street, Erwin, with Rev. Kevin Watson and Rev. Rob Moor officiating. Committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family, ministers and friends are requested to assemble at the cemetery by 10:50 a.m. Tuesday. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the church and other times at the residence, 953 North Elm Street, Erwin.
