Edwards, Junior Mr. R.C. Edwards, Junior, 67, of Blankenship Lane, Erwin, died Friday December 12, 1997 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Unicoi County and a son of Carma Barnett Edwards, Waco, Texas and the late R. C. Edwards, Senior. He served with the United States Air Force during World War II. He retired from CSX Railroad as a carman, working as a skilled cabinet and pattern maker, following 42 and a half years of service. He was also director of safety at CSX Railroad at his retirement. He formerly served as a deacon, Sunday School director and Training Union director of First Baptist Church, Erwin. Mr Edwards was an avid craftsman who created many works of art in his woodshop. He was a member of Erwin Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he was a member of the Men's Fellowship and served as chairman of the Welcoming Committee. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Dorothy McBride Edwards; one son, the Rev. Robert C. Edwards, III, Norfolk, Virginia; one daughter-in-law, Catherine Edwards, Norfolk, Virginia; two sisters, Mrs. Don (Charlotte) Tapp, Houston, Texas, and Evelyn Love, Hewitt, Texas; one grandson, Joshua Edwards, Norfolk, Virginia; and nine nieces and nephews.
