Mr. Engle was a native and lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a son of the late Clyde and Anzo Deaton Engle. Mr. Engle owned and operated Engle's Grocery, Chestoa Pike, Erwin, for 43 years. He attended the Chestoa Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ed Engle. Survivors include: his wife, Jeanette Masters Engle; three daughters, Connie Bailey and Joanie Harris, both of Erwin, and Jeannie Burton, Marion, North Carolina; four sons, C.H. Engle, Brooksville, Florida, Tony Engle and James Engle, both of Erwin, and Keith Engle, Johnson City; one sister, Wilma Bradford, Erwin; one brother, Leslie Engle, Erwin; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Engle is interred at Evergreen Cemetery.
