Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Mountain Home. Mr. Gouge was a native of North Carolina and a son of the late Willard Senior and Anna Mae Burgner Gouge. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Couge owned and operated Leonard Gouge Construction Company until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of Embreeville Cove Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Trent in 1980. Survivors include: his wife, Mary Helen Miller Gouge; three daughters, Debra Gouge Lashin, Unicoi, Kim Gouge Bowman, Bowmantown, and Christa Gouge Carey, Erwin; four sisters, Shirley Orr, Greenfield, Indiana, and Judy Ray, Helen McInturff, and Linda Hopson, all of Unicoi; one brother, Willard Junior Gouge, Unicoi; three grandchildren, Megan Nichole Bowman and Christopher Joseph Bowman, both of Bowmantown, and Jessie Leonard Carey, Erwin. Mr. Gouge is interred at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
