HATHAWAY Mrs. Ruby Marie Hathaway, 80, 132 Ralph Hathaway Road, Hampton, died Monday, April 2, 2007, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. A native of Unicoi County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Clarabelle Teague White. Mrs. Hathaway was a homemaker and a member of Rittertown Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hathaway was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph P. Hathaway, a sister, Frankie Gillenwater, and a brother, Bill White. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Larry K. and Peggy Hathaway of Elizabethton; a daughter, Barbara Carol Hicks of Hampton; two grandchildren, Lori Ann Campbell of Hampton and Jody Keith Hathaway of Elizabethton; five great-grandchildren, Jennifer Paige Hartley, Jimmy Keith Hathaway, Amanda Michelle Hathaway, Samantha Hathaway and Sierra Oaks, all of Elizabethton; two sisters, Mary Russell of Elizabethton and Charlotte Lange of Whitmore, Calif.; and a brother, Ken White of Florida. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Hathaway will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, April 6, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Smith and Mr. Dwayne Calhoun, minister, officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jerry McCoury, Bobby Mottern, Jackie Roberts, Larry Estep, Dalton Davis, Edward Pookie Ensor, Leonard Johnson and Craig Keyes. Honorary pallbearers will be the Doctors and Staff at Life Care Center and the Third Floor Doctors and Staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Jackie Paul Smith, Joel Deloach, Mike Smith and Matt Campbell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, prior to the funeral service. Friends may also call at the residence, 132 Ralph Hathaway Road, Hampton, or at the residence of her son, Larry K. Hathaway, 253 Big Springs Road, Elizabethton.
