Mrs. Ruth Saylor Hawkins

Mrs. Ruth Saylor Hawkins, 78 of Route 1, Unicoi died Wednesday May 6, 1998 in
the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mrs. Hawkins was a native of Unicoi County, having lived in Orlando, Florida
for 24 years before returning to Erwin in 1980. She was a daughter of the late
Joseph and Mamie Saylor. Mrs. Hawkins was employed by Lockheed Martin
Corporation before retiring in 1978 after 22 years of service. She was of the
Methodist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James H.
"Shug" Hawkins, in 1990.  Survivors include: one son, Craig Hawkins, Unicoi;
three grandchildren, Shannon Hawkins, Dianne Timms and Vana Hawkins, all of
Atlanta; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hawkins is interred at Mountain
Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home.
