Mrs. Hopson was a Yancey County, North Carolina native, but had lived most of her life in Erwin and Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Sylvanus and Ida Jane Watts Randolph. Mrs. Hopson was preceded in death by her husband, Royce Wheeler; three brothers, and one grandson. She had retired from Industrial Garment Co., Erwin. Mrs. Hopson was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: four daughters, Betty Falk, Erwin, Lovada O'Leary, Richland, Washington, Christine Hutchins, Unicoi, and Donna Miller, Gray; one son, Ronald Wheeler, Johnson City; one brother, J.D. Randolph, Bluff City; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hopson is interred in Roselawn Memory Gardens.
