Mrs. Rena Garland Johnson

Mrs. Rena Garland Johnson, 86 of Erwin Health Care Center, 100 Stalling Lane,
formerly of 210 Wilson Road, Erwin, died Thursday, February 5, 1998 at the
center.

Mrs. Johnson was a Mitchell County, North Carolina native, but had lived most
of her life in Unicoi County. She was a daughter of the late Garrett and Dicey
Peterson Garland. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Hassia
Bryant, Rissia Miller, Nora Bryant, and Bertha Peterson. Survivors include:
one son, Frank Johnson, Texas; two daughters, Deltha Sharp and Ellen Harris,
both of Erwin; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Johnson is interred at
Evergreen Cemetery.
