The Reverend Richard Gregory officiated. Masonic services were rendered by the Flag Pond Mason Lodge #4087 F & AM. Music was provided by Kim Ruble and Inez Chandler. Graveside service ans entombment were held at 11 a.m. Saturday from Roselawn Memory Gardens. Mr. Jones was a native of Relief, NC, and had lived in Burnsville, NC before moving to Erwin in 1943. He was a son of the late John W. and Vashti Tipton Jones. Mr. Jones was a self-employed barber, having owned and operated several barber establishments in his career. He was a member of the Flag Pond Masonic Lodge # 4087 F & AM. He was also a member of the Jericho Shrine Temple of Erwin, and a member of Eastern Star, Flag Pond, #173. Other than his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by one brother. Survivors include: his wife, Elsie Cochran Jones; two daughters, Lucille Brown, Jacksonville, FL and Virginia Pardue, Erinw; one borther, Boyd Jones, Johnson City; two sisters, Marie Gage, Erwin and Trula Harrell, Weaverville, NC; four grandchildren, Carol Pardue Faulkner, Phillip Wayne Pardue, Cindy Brown Farris, and Sharon Brown Linn; eight great-grandchildren; and two great- great grandchildren. edford Funeral Home was in charge of arragements.
