Mr. Masters was a native of Erwin and a son of the late Alexander and Rebecca Collins Masters. He retired in 1986 from Gordon's Furniture in Johnson City. In addition to his parents, Mr. Masters was preceded in death by three brothers. Survivors include: his wife, Foster Masters; four daughters, Katrina Masters and Vanessa Masters of the home, Tammy Layne, Erwin, and Regina Martin, Marion, North Carolina; two sons, Rod Masters, Inman, South Carolina, and Toby Masters, Mayo, South Carolina; four sisters, Jeanette Engle, Lorenna Wilson, and Lena Wilson, all of Erwin, and Virginia Hixson, Summerville, South Carolina; one brother, Bernard Masters, Erwin; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Masters is interred at Evergreen Cemetery.
