UNICOI COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - John Leo Masters, 11 Mar 2004

ERWIN, TN - John Leo Masters, 84, died Thursday, Mar. 11, 2004 at 
Unicoi County Hospital. A native of Mitchell County, he was the son 
of the late Grady and Hattie Griffith Masters. He was also preceded 
in death by two brothers, Phil and Frank Masters. He was retired from 
Clinchfield Railroad after 40 years of service and was a member of 9th 
Street Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Erwin Masonic Lodge 
#491 and Jericho Temple York Bodies.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Masters of the home; a son, Johnny 
Masters of Erwin; a daughter, Carolyn Adams of Nashville, TN; a brother, 
Charles Masters of Erwin; a sister, Shirley Street of Johnson City, TN; 
two grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. 
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at 9th Street Baptist church. 
Drs. Chris Ward and Alan Davis officiated. Burial was in Evergreen 
Cemetery. the family received friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour 
at the church. Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville was in charge 
of arrangements.
