Phillips Mrs. Mamie Lee Treadway Phillips, 93, 3001 Marbleton Road, Unicoi, died Sunday, July 23, 2006, at Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Phillips was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late James and Emma Cody Treadway. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vaughn Phillips, in 1986, a son, Doyle Phillips, three brothers, Roy, Tom and Arthur Treadway, and two sisters, Edith Harris and Bessie McIntosh. Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and a member of the Marbleton Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Billy J. Phillips, Johnson City, Jimmy and Judy Phillips and Michael "Bob" and Patsy Phillips, all of Unicoi; three daughters and a son-in-law, Shirley and Conley Fender, Unicoi, Janice Castle and Joyce Simmons, both of Johnson City; a special friend and caregiver, Pauline Vance, Unicoi; 14 grandchildren, Michael Woodby and wife Karen, Jonesborough, Kathy Little Miller, Johnson City, Laura Phillips, Elizabethton, Sue and Bob Caponero, Johnson City, Ronnie and Hope Phillips, Johnson City, Sandra and Daniel Walker, Jonesborough, Kenneth and Lynn Phillips, Johnson City, John and Robin Phillips, Johnson City, David and Sherri Phillips, Johnson City, Robin and R. Tommy Keene, Hampton, Dena "De" McCoury, Unicoi, Brittany Simmons, Johnson City, Michael D. Phillips, Manhattan, N.Y., and Mark Phillips, Unicoi; 22 great-grandchildren, Erin Woodby, Murfreesboro, Kristie Woodby, Johnson City, Butch, Johnathan and Kiel Booth, all of Elizabethton, Ann and Ian Hankee, Walnutport, Pa., Chris, Bradley and Amanda Walker, all of Jonesborough, Lili, Joseph, Annie, Josh and Isaac Phillips, all of Johnson City, Matthew Keene, Hampton, Breanna McCoury, Unicoi, Brian, Elizabeth, Emily and Nicole Caponero, all of Johnson City, Caleb Phillips, Johnson City, and Jimmy Leigh Phillips, Greeneville; four great-great-grandchildren, Cole Hankee, Calab Hankee, Cade Hankee and Courtney Booth; four step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Phillips will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Grindstaff and Rev. Sam Ferguson officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and other times at the residence of Mrs. Phillips, 3001 Marbleton Road, Unicoi. The committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Family, ministers and friends may assemble at the funeral home by 10:15 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.ledfordfuneralhome.com.
