Mrs. Slagle was a native of Erwin and had lived in Maryland for 30 years. Mrs. Slagle was a daughter of the late THomas and Nola Buchanan Lloyd. She retired from the Montgomery School System after 27 1/2 years of service. Mrs. Slagle was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Slagle on June 29, 1983. Survivors include: two sons, Michale W. slagle, Newport, Virginia and Kelsey Slagle, Woodbine, Maryland; one daughter, Brenda Denney, Charles Town, West Virginia; one sister, Shirley Amoss, Bristol; one brother, Thomas Lloyd, Johnson City; six grandchildren, Michelle Slagle, Elizabeth Slagle, and Donald Walker Slagle, all of Newport, Virginia, Matthew Slagle, Woodbine, Maryland, and Christa Denney and Joshua O'Dell, both of Charles Town, West Virginia; eight step-grandchildren, mother- and fahter-in law, Hubert and Verta Haynes, Flag Pond; and devoted companion of 12 years, Hugh Atkins. Mrs. Slagle is interred in the Edwards Branch Cemetery, Flag Pond.
