Mr. Williams was a native of Unicoi County, and a son of the late Dillard and Elizabeth Jones Williams. Mr. Williams retired in 1988 as a timber faller following alife's work in the timber industry. He was a member of Mountain Dale Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Barnett, and by three sisters, and one brother. Survivors include: his wife, Irene Phillips Williams; two sons, Jessie Carl Williams, Erwin, and Earnest Dillard Williams, California; one daughter, Mary E. English, Erwin; four brothers, Grady Williams, Jonesborough, Thamer Williams, Erwin, Avery Williams, Idaho, and Robert Williams, Erwin; two sisters, Ola Cooper, Michigan, and Helen Tittle, Erwin; seven grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren. Mr. Williams in interred in the Williams Family Cemetery, Spivey Community, Erwin.
