UNICOI COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Juanita Wood, 21 Feb 2005

Juanita Wood, 79, McCloud Road, Elizabethton, died Monday, February 21, 2005,
at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness.

Mrs. Wood was a native of Unicoi County and a former resident of Johnson City.
She had lived in Elizabethton for the past 20 years. She was the daughter of
the late Blake and Elsie Scharfstein Head. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Wood, and daughter, Lee Dancy.

Mrs. Wood was a member of Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, Johnson
City. She was a retired school teacher and a graduate of East Tennessee State
University. She was a member of Carter County Republican Women, Elizabethton
Women's Club, American Legion Auxiliary and Junior League of Johnson City.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Donna Wood, Johnson
City; a granddaughter, Susan Dancy Rogalski, Chapel Hill, N.C.; and a brother,
Ben Scharfstein, Johnson City.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, at Munsey
Memorial United Methodist Church, Johnson City, with Rev. Lauri Jo Cranford
officiating. A committal service and inurnment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday,
February 26, in the Wood Family Cemetery, Martin, Tenn. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Wood to Munsey Memorial United
Methodist Church, 201 E. Market Street, Johnson City, TN 37601. Words of
