Wythe Co., VA Will Book 1 page 399 will of John Craig 3 May 1805 listed his widow trading back land on Simpson Creek in KY for the previously owned land in Montgomery Co., VA. Note: in will on land traded to William Madison, deceased, in Montgomery Co., VA known as Hands Meadow 2106 acres tor a tract of land on Simpson Creek in KY. Elizabeth Madison, widow trades back land. WIFE: Molly, sons John Jr., Hiram & David; daughters Jane Allison & Martha STULTS. Jesse Carter & Pearce Perry mentioned. The 1810 Wythe Co., VA census page 302 or 853 listed Joshua Stott & wife REBECCA THOMAS with children: 3 males born 1800-1810; 1 male born 1794-1810; 1 female born 1800-10; 1 female born 1794-1800. Also on that census were: Camp Thomas maybe son of John Elisha Thomas maybe son of John John Thomas about the age of Joshua Stott Peter Thomas maybe son of John William Thomas maybe son of John The Warren County, TN 1820 census page 7 listed James P. Thomas near Abner LAWLER, Wm. MERRYMAN, Uriah YORK, Solomon SHELL and page 9 listed Joseph Stotts with a family of 8 males & 5 females in the area of James LAWLER, Frederick Shell, Rezi Jarvis, Wm. Stroud, John Chastain & John Luttrell. Warren Co., TN Deed Bk. 1818-C pages 219-20 on 13th September 1819 JAMES FOSTER to JOSHUA STOTS for $600 "a certain tract of land containing 110 1/2 acres on Hickory Creek it being the place JOSHUA STOTS now lives. Witnessed by John M. & James P. Thomas. On 12 August 1820 he sold this land to Redding Bonner for $552 witnessed by Jesse Locke & John Bonner. DANIEL LOCKE, Jonathan, Christopher & William THOMAS, Charles, Samuel, JAMES, John, Thomas & William FOSTER, Josiah, Joseph & WILLIAM Ramsey, Holton, Skid, Obediah, John, William & Samuel MUNCY were in Wythe Co., VA 1793. Joshua went westward said to have died in Perry Co., TN and that his widow remarried someone there. The Perry Co., TN 1837 tax list of Civil District 5 had ANDREW STOTTS owning 25 acres & taxed 1 white poll. Jesse & Joseph Thomas were also in that area. By 1850 son Andrew Stotts had settled in Craighead Co., AR.Her sons went on to Craighead Co., Arkansas. One son Stephen Stotts went to Stotts City, MO and son Samuel Stotts stayed in Warren Co., TN.
