WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN - DEEDS - State of North Carolina to William Hughes ----¤¤¤---- Washington Co., TN, DB 1, p. 242: State of North Carolina to William Hues Old Book A p. 256 Transcribed by Robert Keyes Feb 25, 2005 State of North Carolina No 312 To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that we for and in consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every Hundred acres hereby granted paid into our treasury by William Hues have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the said William Hues a tract of land containing one Hundred and Eighty nine acres lying and being in our County of Washington Beginning at a poppler Corner to John Stewert and from thence due East one hundred and seventy eight poles to two poast oaks thence South ninety poles to a white oak corner to said Stewert thence East fifty poles to a Bl= ack oak along John Torbets thence North one hundred and twenty four poles along frances Allisons line to a Black Walnut thence East with said line one hun= dred and Eighteen poles to a poppler thence North sixty eight poles to a white oak hues other corner then with said Hues line west two hundred and fifty two poles to a hicory corner of a former survey and from thence forty three Degrees West one hundred and thirty four poles to the Beginning ---- as by the plat hereunto an nexed doth appear together with all woods waters mines minerals Hereditaments and appurtenances to the said land belonging or appurtaining to hold to the sd William Hues his heirs and assigns forever yeild ing and paying to us such sums of money yearly or otherwise as our General asembly from time to time may direct provided always that the said William Hues shall cause this Grant to be Registered in the Registers office of our said County of Wash ington within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be void and of no Effect in Testamony whereof we have caused these our letters to be made patent and our Great Seal to be hereunto affixed, Witness Alexr Martain Esqr our Governor Captain General and Commander in Chief at Fairfield the twenty fourth day of october in the Seventh year of our Independance and in the year of our lord one thousand seven Hundred and eighty two By his Excellencys Command Alex Martin J Glasgow Secry [Note: See also NC Grant to Wm Hughes Washington Co., TN DB 1-220, DB 1-244; see also Wm Hughes to John Prothro Sullivan Co., TN DB 2-576; See also John Allison to Peter Harrington Sullivan Co., TN DB 4-614] ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
