Deed from Petter Starns to John Saylor, dated 13 September 1803

This Indenture made this thirteenth day of Sept year of our lord 1803 
by and between Petter Starns of Washington County and state of 
Tennessee of the one part and John Saylor of Rockingham County and 
state of Virginia of the other Witness that I Petter Starns for and 
in consideration of the sum of 400 dollars to me in Hand paid by the 
said John the recipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted 
bargained and sold a Certain tract or parcel of land in Washington 
County and state of Tennessee Sinking Creek Beginning at a stake Near 
a sugar tree on the North side sd Creek thence North 8 degrees West 
20 poles to two polars growing together at the root thence West 73 
poles to a large Black oak thence North 33 dgs West 12 poles to a 
black oak thence North 43 East 102 poles to a stake and large forked 
poplar in William Woods line thence South 51 degries and 30 minuts 
122 poles to a stake crossing sd Sinking Creek Near the foot of a 
hill thence South 35 Degrees West 14 poles to two white oaks thence 
South 50 degs West 4 poles to a small white oak sapling thence South 
29 degs West 30 poles to a small Hickory and Sycamore on the South 
side of the Creek thence up the Meanders thereof to the place of 
beginning Containing seventy five and a half acre which tract of land 
I the aforesd Peter will forever warrant and Defend free from me my 
heirs Executors adm'rs or assigns as a free clear and Indisputable ??
