C., Oct. 5, 1835. He was born April 7, 1757, in Shenandoah County, Va. He enlisted when he was a resident of Washington County, N. C., (now Tennessee) in 1777, as a private and served six months in Capt. Thomas Price's company, Col. John Sevier's regiment. In 1778 he enlisted and served one month and thirteen days in Capt. Valentine Sevier's company. In the fall of 1780 he enlisted in Capt. Asher's company. In the fall of 1771 he served three months in Capt. Samuel Williams' company, Col. John Sevier's regiment and was in the battle of Monk's Corner. In 1782 he enlisted and served one month in Capt. Alexander Moore's company, Col. John Sevier's regiment and was engaged in the battles with the Cherokee Indians. He died June 4, 1843 in Hall County, Ga. He married Feb. 14, 1792, in Franklin County, Ga., Ruth Gordon, born May 14, 1767. She applied for widow's pension April 2, 1844, while residing in Hall County, Ga. Their children were: John, born Nov. 5, 1792; Oliver, born Oct. 9, 1794; Sevier, born Sept. 11, 1794 and Sabra, born March 3, 1799.
