C., now Tennessee, when he served. His pension record shows that he enlisted in the service when he was only fourteen years of age and that he was born August 27, 1762 in Chester County, Penn. He enlisted in June, 1776, and served three months under Capt. James Montgomery and Col. William Christian of Virginia. He served three months under Capt. William Trimble and Capt Cunningham and Capt. Charles Robertson in North Carolina. He also served three months in Georgia under Col. Clash. He enlisted Sept. 15, 1780, for three months under Capt. Christopher Taylor, Col. John Sevier, of North Carolina. In 1781 he served three months under Colonel John Sevier, Col. Carter and Capt. Christopher Cunningham. He was in the battles of Musgroves Mills, Woffords Iron Works and King's Mountain Where he was wounded in the leg. Note: Ebenezer Fain was the son of Nicholas and Elizabeth Taylor Fain and was one of five brothers who served in the Revolution with their father, who also served. The six were in the battle of King's Mountain. Another brother was killed by Indians during the Revolutionary period and the seventh brother of the group is believed to have served although documentary proof has not been found. Ebenezer Fain married Mary Mercer. June, 1781. She died February 11, 1846. Their children were: David, John, Elizabeth, Margaret, Sarah, Mercer, Mary Ann, Rebecca and Polly Ann Fain.
