Allowence ending Sep 1833 25 125 Book 8 Volume 6 page 124 Loyd Ford Privt Rev War account June 7 1832 Index Vol A page 128F Warrant # 2555 State of Tennessee Declaration of Loyd Ford Washington County On this seventieth day of April 1833 personally appeared in open court before the ???? of the court of Pleas and quarter info now sitting Loyd Ford a resident citizen of the county of Washington State of Tennessee age 82 Years who being first duly according to Law on his oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the benefits of the Act of Congress passed the 7th day of June 1832 That he entered the service of the United States under Following officers & served as herein states that at that time being a resident citizen of Baltimore County Maryland born and raised there in the Spring of 1777, He thinks April. He dietasant was do after, to perform a tour of duty as a militia Man of War???? ???? in Capn John Cokey, Company of the Maryland Militia and under him was marched to the head of Elk ? over there have joined to Capvellung ? company thinks the malitia was commanded by one Smith, but his age & cocnguent infermity of body has impaired his recollection so that he is not altogether certain as to the commondery that he served. Out his three month tour that doing the term of time for which he was ???? & was discharged by his Captian ?????? named (Densvy) but has lost his discharge. That immeditly on his act??? the British fleet was in the bay appears were ??tertained of the malitia in Baltimore (which was well supplied with ammunition) falling into the enemies hands, & by order of the commanding officer the was received in the Lancaster road & dis?tarant Volunteers under Capn Joshua Stephenson to go into service as as one of the group to keep and defend said guantely of ammunition this severed & in August he thinks to be the same time in that year was enrolled under Capn Stephenson to perform the said Tour & was there slatened ???? August 1777 to the same time in the year 1778 & guarded said magizine until all appieincoary of the British Attacking Both monha& Sabndcs? When the same were renamed? Back & sictarent the charges he thinks accually Capn Stephenson ???? by him in contintal money for the term of evitt being as (this must be a pound mark, but not sure) twelve monthly. He served in the two ??? above Tuours fifteen months as a private in the Militia after which he claims a pension. That he has no documentary evidence and that he knows of no person by whom who he can establish the fact of his having served other were than from seperation Same of Amos? Hale ????? ????? that he was born in Baltimore County Maryland in 1748 as forwared by his parents tho he has no record ?????? of his age He states that Amos Hale & John Kennedy as Persons who are ????? with him & contassy? From reputation or Also Amos Hale in the hosatre?. He herely ????????????? every claim whatever to a pension except the preseat & diclaimer that his name is not on the Pension Roll pf the agency of any State Sworn and subscribed Loyd X Ford In open court this date his mark We Amos Hale & ????????????????? residing in the County of Wahinton Sate of Tennessee so certify that we are well acquinted with Loyd Ford who has made & subscribed the fore going declaration That he resides in the same vancinity & and we do believe him to be Eight Two years of age & that he is respected and beloved in the neighborhood where he resides to have been a Revolutionary Soldier & that we confirm? ?? That opinion Amos Hale also states that he served under Capn Stephenson as a malitila man, Having entered as a volunteer to guard the magazine removed for saftely from Baltimore. Did read the statement set forth by Loyd Ford. ??? foregoing declaration & with the same is correct as stated by him ???? subscribe inopen court this either 11 or 19 day of April 1833 Samul ??? DC Amos Hale John Kennedy Authi Dago Court do lerely declare the opion that after the investigation of the matter and after hearing the ??? ???????? by the war Department that the above named applicant was a Revoluctionary Soldier and served as he has staqted & the court further certifies that it appears to them that Amos Hale and John Kennedy are citizens of the County of Washington & responsible persons, and there statement ????? ????
