CHRISTOPHER TAYLOR Christopher Taylor applied for revolutionary pension while living in Washington County, Tenn. He states that he resided in the country which was afterwards Washington County, Tenn., before 1776 and that he enlisted under Col. Christian at Long Island. He volunteered in the Expedition that Col. John Sevier made against the Indians in the Chickamauga towns. He was in the battle of King's Mountain. He had five "constant years of service." He died in Washington County, Sept. 10, 1833. His widow, Mary Edwards Taylor, applied for widow's pension while living in Washington County. She died March 29, 1837. Their children were: Henry; James: Arty (name indistinct, but evidently a daughter), married ____ Wyley; Matthew; Greenbury; Stephen; and Sarah who married _____ Maclin and died January 3, 1849. NOTE:-Capt. Christopher and Mary Edwards Taylor are buried in Washington County, on their farm.
