HIRAM LOVE BAILEY

GRAY, TN - Hiram Love Bailey, 89, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2003 in 
the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. He was the son of the 
late James D. and Essie Bailey. He was also preceded in death by 
an infant son, Frankie Bailey, two brothers and three sisters. A 
WWII Army veteran, he was retired a retired mechanic with Hoover 
Ball. He was a member of Erwin Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Peters Bailey of the home; five 
sons, Carl Bailey of Johnson City, TN, Luther (Joe) and Alvin Bailey, 
both of Gray, and Jess and Raymond Bailey, both of Erwin, TN; three 
daughters, Virginia Bailey and Hazel Jeter, both of Gray, and Marie 
Nave of Blountville, TN; a step brother, Milton Cole of Bakersville; 
22 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren, great great 
grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Monday at Erwin Christ of 
Christ. Revs. Clayton Winters, Phillip Mullins and Dan Bailey 
officiated. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in 
Roselawn Memory Gardens in Johnson City. The family received friends 
from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the church. Erwin Memorial Funeral Home was 
in charge of arrangements.
