Biggers EMORY -- Ruth Evans Biggers passed away early on the morning of Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie. Ruth was for many years a professor in the mathematics department at Emory & Henry College, where she is remembered with great fondness by former students and associates. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Biggers and Louise Gesner. She is survived by a niece, Ruth Gesner of Freeport, Texas; and two nephews, Marshall Gesner of Tulsa, Okla., and Eugene Gesner of Port Charlotte, Fla. Ruth was a faithful member of Emory United Methodist Church on the campus of Emory & Henry College. There will be a memorial service at Emory United Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002. Those wishing to express sympathy online may do so at www.campbell- funeralhome.com.
