Cochran Dorothy E. Cochran, age 86, 169 Max Jett Road, Johnson City, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at Appalachian Christian Village, following an extended illness. A native of Limestone, she was a daughter of the late J.D. Cochran and Cordie Greene. She was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church and was a 1941 graduate of Happy Valley High School. Ms. Cochran had worked at Blue Ridge Pottery in Erwin and taught at Green Pine School. She retired from Jellico Grocery Company in Elizabethton after 34 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Georgia Cochran Westmoreland; a brother, Leonard Cochran; three brothers-in-law, Alan Cash, Lowell Hughes, and Estel Westmoreland; and a nephew, Steve Kerns. Survivors include three sisters, Gladys Holder and Margie Cash, both of Johnson City, and Imogene Hughes, Watauga. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The graveside service for Ms. Cochran will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Shelton Lewis officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, great-nephews and her many friends. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to Pinecrest Baptist Church, 2129 Old Lewis Road, Johnson City, TN 37601.
